-From September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated nationally.


-Hispanic Heritage Month starts on the 15th day to give a nod to the anniversaries of national independence of the many Latin American countries


-This celebration was originally only a week, but it is now a month. This change happened in 1988!


-President Lyon Johnson made the observation for Hispanic Heritage week in 1968 and was expanded by president Ronald Reagan to cover a 30-day period in 1988!
